WILLOW BIRTHING & PHOTOGRAPHY
Holistic doula & dedicated photographer
Giving birth doesn’t have to be a medical event. Giving birth doesn’t have to be a medicated event, if you don’t want it to be. You are in charge of your birth, lactation, postpartum & motherhood experience. Let me help guide you through this journey, whether it be new or not.
ALL ABOUT ME
As a little girl, I remember always wanting to be around babies, wanting to help people and as I grew older that passion turned into a drive to become some sort of labor and delivery help. I went to school to become a certified medical assistant, specializing in pediatrics for 7 years. I decided the medical field was not what it cracked out to be, in regards to a respectful environment. In 2018 I met my husband and we started a family during the covid pandemic, our first daughter was born in November of 2020 and I remember how scary the pre-birth experience was, the birthing classes scared me more than they did good. I had no faith in my body or my abilities nor did I know the extent of what my body was capable of. I had arrived at 3cm and was given an unauthorized membrane sweep with my cervical check. I remember the gush of blood and the anxiety flooding my body as my husband looked down and looked back up at me in horror. The nurse said “let’s get you admitted and back in a room!”.
My 2nd daughter was born naturally, in a hospital setting (hypertension with both pregnancies didn’t warrant a home birth as I wanted) with my doula & husband by my side. Because of my first experience, I knew hiring a doula would be the best option for our family. This experience is exactly why I wanted to become a doula! I felt SO at peace with my birth experience and so aware of my body, I had zero complications and I fully believe that was due to a low stress labor and supported birth. I am passionate about providing this exact experience to my clients.
I am excited to announce that I am offering newborn and birth photography or videography services along with my doula services.
